The project involves developing AI-based Digital Twins to optimize plant yield, support operational decisions in the Control Room, and enable advanced predictive maintenance logic.
Milan, 14 July 2026 – Datrix S.p.A. (“Datrix” or the “Company”), a company listed on Euronext Growth Milan (ISIN code IT00054683) and leading the first international AI-powered ecosystem of vertical B2B software companies, announces the launch of a framework agreement between Aramix, a Datrix Group company specialized in developing Artificial Intelligence solutions for the industrial world, and Femo Gas, a leading player in the design and management of biomethane production plants, aimed at developing an intelligent platform for monitoring, optimizing, and providing operational support to biomethane production plants.
The initiative was created with the aim of applying advanced Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twin, Prognostics and Health Management, and Prescriptive Analytics technologies to a sector that is strategic for the energy transition, with an approach designed from the outset to be scalable and progressively extendable across Femo Gas’s plant platform.
The project involves developing digital models of the plants capable of representing and simulating the behavior of production processes, with particular focus on anaerobic digestion and energy yield optimization. Through the analysis of operational data, process signals, and variables relevant to plant operation, the platform will be designed to support operators in identifying the best operating conditions and managing available resources more efficiently.
Aramix’s activities will follow a progressive path starting with the analysis of existing data and processes, leading to the development of AI models and decision-support tools that can be integrated into Femo Gas’s operating systems.
The goal is to create a technological asset for Femo Gas capable of capitalizing on the plants’ information assets and turning them into models, tools, and operational knowledge to support industrial management, thereby transforming the plants’ information assets into operational insights that improve production continuity, efficiency, and response capability.
The project has a twofold purpose: on one hand, to maximize the plants’ production efficiency by dynamically optimizing operating parameters and digester feedstock mix; on the other, to reduce unplanned downtime through predictive tools capable of detecting anomalies, estimating failure risk, and supporting more timely and targeted maintenance interventions.
The framework agreement confirms Aramix’s role as a concrete enabler of AI aimed at generating efficiency, operational continuity, and sustainability in the renewable energy sector, and represents an important step in Femo Gas’s technological innovation strategy.
“This project fully represents the kind of Artificial Intelligence we believe in: not generic or experimental AI, but industrial AI capable of entering companies’ processes, data, and operational decisions – with Femo Gas we are bringing this approach to a strategic area such as biomethane, working on real plants and production chains. It is precisely within the Italian industrial system that AI can become an enabling infrastructure, contributing to efficiency, sustainability, operational continuity, and competitiveness”.
— Mauro Arte, Co-founder of Datrix and CEO of Aramix
“The collaboration between Femo Gas and Aramix, a benchmark player in artificial intelligence and machine learning, was born with a precise objective: to put the most advanced technologies at the service of agriculture and, in particular, livestock farming. The project aims to introduce intelligent industrial systems that help agricultural companies carry out the energy transition, favoring the adoption of renewable and sustainable sources. Agriculture and livestock farming thus become protagonists of an innovation that combines productivity, reduced consumption, and respect for the environment. Thanks to artificial intelligence, it will be possible to optimize the well-made biomethane supply chain, managing energy resources more efficiently and guiding the primary sector towards a modern and sustainable development model”.
— Simone Vecchiarello (Chief Security Officer) and Claudio Fabbri (Chief Technical Officer), Femo Gas Group
With this initiative, Aramix and Femo Gas aim to build an advanced model for the intelligent management of biomethane plants, in which data, process expertise, and AI algorithms converge into operational tools that support more efficient, reliable, and sustainable energy production.

About Femo Gas
Femo Gas is an Italian group at the forefront of biomethane production from agricultural feedstocks, and a national leader in sustainability and the circular economy.
The company produces liquefied biomethane for hard-to-electrify sectors such as heavy road transport and maritime shipping, while remaining firmly committed to its goal of reducing agricultural emissions, particularly those linked to livestock farming.
Femo Gas S.p.A., which has invested more than €150 million to date in the development and construction of biomethane plants, closed 2024 with revenue growing to approximately €55 million and EBITDA of approximately €20 million.
Headquartered in Cittadella, in the province of Padua, the group employs 120 people across Sicily, Lombardy, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
“More farms, more biomethane, fewer emissions” is Femo Gas’s motto – over the years, the company has demonstrated its ability to produce biogas without taking a single hectare of land away from food production. Femo Gas plants use exclusively lignocellulosic organic matter, including livestock effluent, agricultural and agro-industrial by-products, and cover crops grown before or after a food crop – all lignocellulosic biomass unsuitable for human or animal consumption.
Through its subsidiary BRD S.r.l. (Biogas Refinery Development S.r.l.), Femo Gas S.p.A. holds engineering, biotechnological and agronomic expertise to design, build and manage its own plants. This “learning by doing” approach ensures the continuous optimisation of both production and environmental performance.
