Digital independence starts with people: with the opportunity to own a computer, know how to use it, and make informed choices about digital tools.
This is the vision of Fondazione Anno Zero ETS, presented at the Italian Chamber of Deputies, with contributions from our CEO Fabrizio Milano d’Aragona.
The Foundation, chaired by Andrea Arienti, recovers unused computers, refurbishes them and donates them together with training and support. Those who receive them must be able to control their own data and decide which tools to use. That is why the project is also exploring local #AI solutions based on open models: tools that work without sending data externally and support learning, while leaving learners the task of reasoning, verifying and choosing.
Because digital autonomy is only valuable when it also strengthens independent thinking.
