Enrico Zio appointed Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology

It is with great pride that we announce that our Scientific Director, Professor Enrico Zio, has been appointed Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of Technology for Nuclear Energy Safety in Hefei, China. This prestigious recognition is a valuable tribute to his extraordinary contribution to the advancement of safety in nuclear engineering.

Among the many advancements made in his field, Enrico Zio has pioneered the application of Monte Carlo simulation for the reliability analysis of nuclear systems. He has also developed predictive artificial intelligence models for fault detection, diagnostics, and prognostics and contributed to the integrated deterministic and probabilistic risk assessment of nuclear power plants.

During the award ceremony, Professor Zio gave a comprehensive lecture on the use of artificial intelligence for nuclear safety, further consolidating his role as a leader in the field.
