Enrico Zio, Scientific Director of Datrix, participates with a plenary keynote lecture at the 11th International Symposium on Symbiotic Nuclear Power at Harbin Engineering University

September 25, 2024

This week, from September 23 to 25, Harbin Engineering University organized and hosted the 11th International Symposium on Symbiotic Nuclear Power: AI Application in Nuclear Systems, an event that brought together world-renowned experts in the nuclear energy sector to discuss cutting-edge technologies, such as:

  • AI-based technologies,
  • Human Computer Interaction (HCI),
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI).

During the conference, our Scientific Director, Professor Enrico Zio, delivered the plenary keynote lecture, bringing his knowledge on the application of AI in nuclear systems and offering a significant contribution to the global dialogue on innovative and safe nuclear technologies. Zio explained how the fourth industrial revolution and the fifth (anthropocentric) are pushing the industry toward the digital transition, through paradigms such as the internet of things, big data, and the industrial internet, transforming the way systems are designed, produced, and managed.

The event confirms itself as a point of reference for the progress of artificial intelligence and nuclear technologies, with the aim of promoting innovative and safe solutions for the global energy future.

In this video, Enrico Zio presents the use of artificial intelligence to improve the reliability and safety of energy systems, particularly nuclear systems. These include the use of artificial intelligence techniques for fault detection, diagnostics and prognostics, for the reliability assessment of passive systems, for condition-based risk assessment, for the development of digital twins and real-time risk assessment.
